vlc stopped playing DVDs

disc.c:437: error opening file BDMV/BACKUP/index.bdmv
bluray.c:2646: nav_get_title_list((null)) failed

I keep wondering why it is trying to open a .bdmv file and what bluray.c has got to do if you just want to play DVD’s resp. their copies rather than blurays?

Both versions have the same lines and fail.

DVD menus kind of work with version 3.0.17. While version 3.0.16 is snappy and fully intuitive version 3.0.17 is dead slow. With one DVD links in the menu appear after a one minute wait only. With version 3.0.16 links are opened by left clicking. This doesn’t work with version 3.0.17. On the other hand hitting the return key does open the link.>:(
