VLC player Subtitle problem

Hi folks,
I’m usin VLC player, but only problem I have is one whit subtitles. I’m new linux user and i don’t know to set parameters for subtitle. I don’t know how to change font, and don’t know why subtitle goes only in one row. Any help will be usefull!

Hi. Have you installed VLC from the packman repository?
In the program preferences there an apposite section to set subtitles.

These are VLC options, nothing to do with Linux itself.

Anyway I already reported the bug -> [packman] [PM] vlc 0.9.1-0.pm.0 (openSUSE 11.0/x86_64)](http://212.112.227.138/pipermail/packman/2008-August/005989.html)

Just install freefont and change from “/usr/share/fonts/truetype/freefont/FreeSerifBold.ttf” to “/usr/share/fonts/truetype/FreeSerifBold.ttf” in VLC preferences.

Hi, dont know if this is your problem but i has problem with subtitles. and solved changing default font.
check in tools - > preferences → subtitles and osd … and pick a font, i choose → /usr/share/fonts/truetype/DejaVuSans.ttf. after that reopen the movie and subtitle files and its working now…
