VLC issues

I installed the VLC player. It reads some files very good, but in others (.wmv and.avi files, for example) the colors are not correct.

thanks!

Change default output to X11

also make sure you are using VLC from Packman and assuming you have libdvdcss installed from the VLC repo you have disabled that repo and done Update All Unconditionally in Packman
Multi-media and Restricted Format Installation Guide - openSUSE Forums

I tried, but VLC keeps malfunctioning. The videos look great in smplayer, though.

Thanks!

any idea why VLC output is in bluish tones and SMP output is in standard colors?

Is this what you see in software management - packman filter
http://thumbnails19.imagebam.com/3232/63a99c32316038.gif](http://www.imagebam.com/image/63a99c32316038/)

Yes, when I select VLC the othre 2 are selected by default.

How about a screen shot of this?

I got the same issue on my Kohjinsha SC3.

I installed VLC from Packman with “yast2 --install vlc”.
(running on 2.6.27.21-0.1-pae)

help would be appreciated

In a terminal do

rpm -qi vlc

Did you run through the multi-media guide too?
Have you tried X11 video output?

Hi,

I have tried the X11 output and I went through the multi-media guide as well.

X11 output doesn’t change anything… after restarting VLC this option changes back to default again → is that ok?

everything seems ok when I do the checks according to
400119-check-your-multimedia-problem-ten-steps
(just some different vendors in some packages, but that should not be an issue… right?)

I can change the colors a little by adjusting the hue in Video Effects -> Basic

When I run the same file in xine, then everything is fine and the colors are correct.

Any clues?
