Hi,
My OS is OpenSuse11.0 64bit. I have installed VLC from the YAST without problem. But I can’t run it from the menu. Also when I execute “vlc” command in the shell, following message:
“VLC is not supposed to be run as root. Sorry.
If you need to use real-time priorities and/or privileged TCP ports
you can use vlc-wrapper (make sure it is Set-UID root first and
cannot be run by non-trusted users first).”
Thanks.
What is the reason to run VLC as root? I think it is right to refuse that.
My thoughts exactly.
Lets hope they are not actually logged in as root.
