Virtualization!

Good Morning,

I have a problem, I won the openSUSE 11.1 BOX and I installed it on my computer, that is a hp pavillion dv2715nr.

My hardware has the virtualization support, when I was using the slackware on my computer, I used the VMware with no problems.

So, I installed the XEN by YaST, the installation is OK, but when I was create a virtual machine, the XEN bring me a error: “The hardware has no virtualization support.”

I don’t know why it’s happen, if somebody here knows, please help me.

Thank you.

ps: on my BIOS the Virtualization Support is ENABLE.

Hi, I haven’t used XEN yet,I use VirtualBox instead and find it very user friendly.Easy to install via Yast and manage your guest machines. Maybe you can give it a try

OK, I will try to use the VirtualBox.

But I realy need to use the XEN, because I will use it in a client.

someone else ?

That’s definitely strange… once I enabled the option in the BIOS (my
processor supports it, of course) Xen worked just fine for me. I’m
running a 64-bit host and guests as well (and 32-bit guests from time to
time) and it’s been just fine. Are you sure you’re booted to the Xen
kernel? Even if you install it, at least with SLE, it is not the
default option.

Good luck.
