VirtualBox starts only as root

Hello,
I’m running SuSE 10.3 on my desktop machine. Vbox was working just find until I updated to the 2.0.2_ version last night. Now, Vbox only runs as root. I have made sure that I’m added to the vboxuser group as before. Still, no go. It was fine before I updated.

Obviously, it’s a permission error, but If I’m already in the group, I’m not sure where else to look.

Thanks,

bertman

Ok,
am I the only one?

No, use this one: http://www.sun.com/software/products/virtualbox/

Ah,
Yes. But I’d rather Yast perform the vboxdrv setup and all automatically…like it should.

I’m also having issues w/ VBox (both the OSE and the binary from Sun [for the USB support].
Followed VBox instructions on enabling USB support, making sure I’m in the vboxusers group, etc.
VBox works fine as far as setup and creation of the virtual machine, but when it comes down to starting the vmachine (i.e., accessing the cdrom to install the OS and just opening the os image file) it’s a no-go.
qemu is a similar story.
It’s one thing that worked without a hitch under Ubuntu. Frustrating. I’m still searching the googlenets for a solution.

This appears to have been fixed with the newest update of VBox.
