I tried to test the 3D feature of VirtualBox, so I installed a few games
in there, but they all ask me to insert a CD in the drive. But it’s
already there! I’ve tried both a physical CD and an ISO, still asks me
to insert the disk. Any ideas? Thank you.

If you have a running guest - and it sounds as if you do - then boot the OS
and use the top menu bar (the VBox menus, not the guest OS) and in the
Devices menu, mount you CD/DVD drive. It’s probably /dev/sr0 in the list.
Usually when the guest OS can’t find a CD, you have the virtual iso image
still active from installing the guest extensions.
The drive is working perfectly fine, I did install the games from the
CDs. But when I start the games it asks to insert the CD which is
already inserted cos I’ve just installed it. This is what I don’t
understand.

Ah! That clarifies things a bit. In the setup, do you enable the
pass-through setting? Not doing that blocks the CD writer on one machine
here.
