I am trying to set up a static IP for a Suse 11 x32 guest on VBox on Suse 11 x64.
I have read the instructions on how-to set up host interface for DHCP in the VBox manual and I have it working just fine.
My problem is I want to use static IPs and I cant get it to work.
Can someone point me in the right direction.
I have a separate nic card for the VM and have set it to grab the static IP 0.0.0.0 as per instructions and if I set the bridge to DHCP and set the VM’s nic to use DHCP and all is well.
However when I set the bridge to pull a static IP the VM wont connect using DHCP and if I set the VM to static IP the same as the bridge I get an error “IP in use” and if I use another IP in the range it does not connect.
So I need the procedure to use static IPs instead of DHCP for host interface networking with VirtualBox.
