Has anyone gotten the direct rendering to work properly. I am able to enable effects glxinfo show dri yes but glx gears is just as slow and the machine locks. This is not at all critical as without effects it seems very stable. Thanks
On my laptop it does not work as it should, on my server it does. Same VBox, same LiveCD image.
Hey thanks for the reply this is on a laptop also. Hpdv6000 series. glx gears on the debian host glx gears are 2500 fps on the guest without direct rendering enabled is 190 fps and with direct rendering enable only about 220 fps. Seemed to get it pretty stable using direct rendering using jiffies clocksource now to deal with time drift
