how to install virtual boxto run xp on top
I need xp to run some software!
I would like to not run xp but I can not find how to get book read to me!
- Add the Sun VirtualBox repository.
Copy/Paste the following lines in the file in /etc/zypp/repos.d/Sun_VirtualBox.repo
[Sun_VirtualBox]
name=Sun VirtualBox
enabled=1
autorefresh=0
baseurl=http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/rpm/opensuse/11.2/
path=/
type=rpm-md
- Install VirtualBox with the following command
sudo zypper in VirtualBox - Choose XP while creating a Virtual Machine.
- Boot the Virtual Machine from XP CD or ISO image and install as you would do on a computer.

/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
Actually, to install the latest VirtualBox version from the Sun repository, you have to specify:
zypper in VirtualBox-3.1
Otherwise, it will install VirtualBox-3.0 (which is OK too).
could not find the program “cvsodrv”
What? That doesn’t sound right. There isn’t such program.
Always use the newest virtualbox (3.1.2…), because older versions have probs to support USB.
The new version runs very good - and the installation goes through without any interaction.
I reinstard the virtual box and when I start the Virtual for xp it still come up will

Did you compile the module ?
sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
BTW you’ll have to do that every time after a kernel update.
If it doesn’t work with sudo, try su and then /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
The module should load. Then restart VirtualBox.

I never heard about such program! Even in /etc/init.d/vboxdrv, which is a plain text script, you won’t find that keyword. Am I wrong?
What’s the output of :
grep cvsodrv /etc/init.d/vboxdrv
on your system? I bet it’s empty.
This thread is becoming unbelievable. I suspect an issue either with language or mental comprehension - No offence intended.
The guide I posted gives you step by step instruction.
