Viewing Apple Movie Trailers

So, are you able to view the movie trailers as posted at Apple? Here is their link:

iTunes Movie Trailers

If so, I would like to hear about your setup. This might make a good write up for all to use, except for the variance in the setup from one PC to another and from one version of openSUSE to another and from one version of Firefox from another. So, if the above Apple link allows you to view movie trailers, what I want to know is:

  1. OpenSUSE version
  2. Firefox version
  3. Firefox player plugin (Player & version)
  4. Anything else we should know.

I can view Movie Trailers so here are my answers:

  1. openSUSE 11.3 (64 bit)
  2. Firefox 3.6.8
  3. Quicktime Plugin 7.6.6 (Totum version 2.30.2)
  4. Additional Information:
    A. Installed Default User Agent from Link https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/59
    B. Added XML file for Quicktime Simulation:
<useragentswitcher>
  <useragent
    description="Quicktime 7.6.6"
    useragent="QuickTime/7.6.6 (qtver=7.6.6;os=Windows NT 5.1Service Pack 3)"
    appcodename=""
    appname=""
    appversion=""
    platform=""
    vendor=""
    vendorsub=""/>
</useragentswitcher>

Saved file as quicktime.xml and loaded into user agent. That is all. I hope to hear your comments.

Thank You,

  2. 3.6 and whatever the latest build is (64bit)
  3. gecko-mediaplayer (64bit)
  4. For some retarded reason, searching for it here will not find anything, so you must use the link provided above in point “3.”

Thanks Tyler_K for your input. This information could prove very useful in the future. I would like to add that anyone for whom the iTunes movie link does not work, it would be nice to know what it does and what you have loaded. If iTunes movies did not work at first and now after you read information in this thread that helped make it work, we want to know that as well. All comments are welcome here.

Thank You,
