get opensuse 11.0 today and want to try it.
go for install boot loader, successfully. after restart everything goes just like usual os installation. But when make a decision to partition and i forget to make partition, then i cancel the opensuse installation.
after restart, the windows resolution changed, even when go to bios. there are black side in right of my monitor. i decided to install opensuse to use such as sax2 to configure this but i can’t make any partition since i already have 4 partition and vista won’t let me make more than 4.
so, is there any way to make this resolution get back to normal without installing any linux?my resolution is 1280-960.
have you tried to get old resolution back by adjusting it again in vista /xp desktop properties?
you can also try loading deafualts in bios when it comes up.
your devices are recognised by bios still?
suse installer may not make a change like this.
there must be something else wrong
well i think i understand your problem.
after you cancelled the instalaltion your screen center shifted away.right??
this usualy happens when the windows screen resolution and the resolution you use in linux setting are different.once you set them to same resolution i think your problem will be solved.i get it some time but mine is a desktop pc with a crt monitor.so i simply use the monitor adjustment keys to fix it.but i am not aware about notebooks.
and as far as i know os does not over write the bios but only reads info from it.but if you know thats the case then you can always reset the bios to the factory settings.
