video projector

HI,

I’m a newbie in linux, this is my first time using an open system. I have a problem when using video projectors as second display for presentaions, video projections, etc. I have a HP pavillion ze5300 with an ATI Radeon RS200 and I’m running OpenSuse 11.1. Sometimes with some video projectors I get no second display or whatsoever, it simply doesn’t recognise. It is not with all of them, but with the majority I have tested.

Any ideas ? which could be the problem?

Thanks for any advice

What I’ve found over the years is that in general being connected to the
projector when starting Xorg up works best. That said, there have been
significant improvements in recent releases that make this not as
necessary as it used to be. I find that the GNOME resapplet (since I use
GNOME) usually can handle it if I have it detect the projector after
plugging in.
