Video Projector with Suse 10.3

Hi,
This is my first post here, so I hope I have it right. I am using an HP r4000 laptop running ubuntu 8.04, windows xp and Suse 10.3. I am able to use a video projector with the first two OSs by setting with the Fn F4 key.But it has no action with Suse. Can anyone offer some assistance. I have read some of the other messages on the forum but none seem to be applicable to my problem.

Hi,

my experience is that you need an appropriate video driver that supports
this functionality. When I attached a second monitor for viewing
pictures it worked only with the proprietary video driver from AMD (I
have an ATI graphics card). With the standard video driver Fn Fx does
nothing.

My suggestion is to look at the video driver and install the proprietary
driver via additional Yast repository (depends on what graphics card you
have).

Have fun:)

Snakedriver,
Thanks for the hint. I thought it might be something like that. I will let you know how I make out.

Hi,
It has taken me a while, since I had a few other things needing my attention, but I have downloaded the live disks for SUSE 11.0; both the 64 bit version and the 32, both of which will run the projector.
So SUSE must have included the needed drivers. I will probably install the 64 bit version. I hope there will be no more problem with the projector
