Note that the repositories are not browsable with a web browser: set them up as yast-sources
I haven’t tried ATI as I don’t have that card.
Nvidia would not resolve a few minutes ago.
However, in the long run they should solve many of the issues you all have been posting.
Remember there’s a driver and a kernel module which needs to match the running kernel (uname -a). You will also need kernel-source and kernel-syms installed IMHO.
adding th Nvidia drivers is really easy except for the bit when everything does not work according to plan. It is however a good excercise as the worst that can happen is that RC1 will have to get “ploughed under” which we are all going to do in a few days save the masochistic few. NVIDIA - openSUSE has a really good step by step
Here is the nVidia ftp server (isn’t YaST repository!) including the latest (beta) drivers: ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/.
Browsable with web browser.
ps.:Just installed 180.16 (latest). Work fine under KDE 4.1.3. No Compiz, or other Desktop effects tested.
Does anyone lack the ability to compile newest driver for themselves I think for now everyone encountered numerous problems with NVidia drivers and at some time everyone had to compile them:D
