Viber rpm installation

Hi,

I’m trying to install the rpm provided from the official Viber site (https://download.cdn.viber.com/desktop/Linux/viber.rpm) and I get this:

zypper in viber.rpm
Loading repository data...
Reading installed packages...
Resolving package dependencies...

Problem: nothing provides 'gstreamer1(x86-64)' needed by the to be installed viber-16.1.0.37-2.x86_64
Solution 1: do not install viber-16.1.0.37-2.x86_64
Solution 2: break viber-16.1.0.37-2.x86_64 by ignoring some of its dependencies

The rpm is supposed to be for Fedora, so I guess this is normal that if fails. I searched for a package ‘gstreamer1’ but no such package exists.

Has anyone successfully installed the rpm? As a last resort, I guess I will use the Appimage package they also provide.

On a side note, Zoom already provides a OpenSUSE rpm which works beautifully.

Hi
Just ignore “Solution 2” it’s a package naming issue… openSUSE uses gstreamer naming so it will fail…

So, I guess the proper solution is to use the Appimage package.

Hi
No, just select solution 2 and all should be fine.
