VHS to DVD hardware software, KDE

I need help finding the hardware that will compatible with opensuse. I’v found some good hardware on amazon.

Does OPENSUSE leap 42.1 support analog video/audio to USB hardware? There are quite a few hardware items to choose from.

Thanks.

Hi
I use a Somagic EasyCap DC60 - USB 2.0 Video Capture Adapter device, there is a module I’ve packaged/tested/fixed (tested in both openSUSE Leap 42.1 and Tumbleweed) for it as they now release the firmware for it under GPL.

Hi
Yes, that’s it

Also this one if you can wait…?

Good to know about. I’ve promised to digitise my mum and dad’s mini VHS travel tapes sometime.

Hi
I use VLC (note I use videolan not packman version), mplayer should work
as well, there is a somagic-easycap package which has a capture
application you can pipe through mplayer.

Hi
Yes, select the card and audio via Media -> Open Capture Device.
