Very very strange thing is happening with my Firefox!

The problem is described in this video:

When I drag the Firefox icon to the Firefox window it shows a strange web page with a strange address and Firefox says “Server not found”
When I drag different icons to the Firefox window it shows different web pages with strange addresses.

I have no idea what is happening with my Firefox.
Is there anyone in the same situation?

Please help.
Thanks.

You’re dragging a .desktop file (not a URL) into your browser. Of course
it cannot read it, and thus it does unexpected things.

If you open a text editor (kate/kwrite/gedit/jedit/etc.) and type in
www.google.com’ and then select that text followed by dragging it into
your browser, your browser (Firefox) will go to that website. This is
because the browser sees something given to it, a URL, and acts on it; a
…desktop file’s contents are not helpful to the browser.

Give dogs dogfood, cats catfood, and browsers browserfood.

Good luck.
