Verizon 4G LTE modem setup - used to work

Dear Opensuse Users:
Years ago it was relatively easy to set up a USB modem (well, it’s actually a wireless internet connection) with NetworkManager. The version of the NetworkManager in 13.2 doesn’t have too much information present in it. I can get things sort of set up, but there isn’t any feedback as to why it isn’t connecting. Lights are on, and the NM connection editor (mobile broadband):

…but no entry ever shows up in the “Active connections” box - unless I tell NM it is GSM (it’s CDMA, as are all verizon items)… odd.

Has anyone any troubleshooting ability or experience on this sort of setup in NM?

Thanks In Advance,
patti

EDIT: Oops! Answered my own question. It’s GSM! I guess I was out of date… It seems to work.

Hi Patti

The connections you make are defined in a config file located in the /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/ directory.

You can examine the journal live while attempting to connect using

sudo journalctl -fu NetworkManager

Glad you got it sorted! It’s usually very simple for devices that are supported.
