I have come to realize perhaps I do not want to fill the vendor field of rpm specs for my own packages on obs. This seems to give the package a vendor affinity with what’s in the spec, rather than the repo it came from, and these also seem to produce problems when I change the rpm vendor because they cannot be changed as freely since the repo remained the same. I have to imagine it would also cause versioning confusion and conflicts if the package is cloned into and built in another repo without clearing it.
I was able to answer my own question. No, in almost all cases, you probably do NOT want to use the rpm spec Vendor field in obs.
