I want to use a 16GB thumbdrive as the main home of a virtual Vista machine under VirtualBox (OSE). (3yr-old laptop is still great but has a wee harddrive). Is there anyway to permanently map removable media? Perhaps a script that symlinks this particular drive whenever it is plugged in?
If your device has a Volume ID it will always mount the same way, so it should only be necessary that the device is plugged in and mounted to be available to VBox
Thanks. Didn’t realize I could mount a thumb drive by hostname. That solves my problem. Alas, netflix & hulu are still so choppy as to make it pointless. -GEF
