/var/log/messages on trying to mount CD audio disk

I am getting the following in the /var/log/messages, when trying to mount a good audio CD

Does this mean I should upgrade my ECS motherboard BIOS? or check its settings?

Not sure how to proceed, but obviously we cannot mount the volume.

What version of openSUSE and what Desktop?

How are you trying to mount the audio CD ? I know this will sound bizarre, but when I am playing an audio cd, and type the ‘mount’ command (while the cd is playing), there is no indication of the audio cd being ‘mounted’ in the classical sense.

Why not just insert it. … ignore the popups. Launch an application (such as packman packaged smplayer , or vlc, or kaffeine) and see if you can play it. Note one must ensure the appropriate drive is selected.

Audio CDs don’t need to be mounted, they are not data CDs. Just play them.

Unless it’s one of those hybrid audio/data CDs but those are rare (albums that have a bonus data portion).
