Hi. In case that someone haves the same problem like me:
with the printer not wanting to print and always saying:
/usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip-hplip failed
The problem seems to be somewhere in the a “newer” hplip package and a hplip-hpcups or something like that from a repository caller Packman Repository, which was added on my system when installing some other software with the OneClicInstall files of Suse, and then maked an update.
If someone else have this problem, disable this repository and downgrade hplip and hplip-hpcups.
I have noted an strange jump in version numbering of hplip, from 2.8.7-7.1 (current working for me) to 3.9.6 in this broken repo.
After reinstaling this, the missing file will be reinstalled.
I tryed that, but from cups http://localhost:631
And didnt worked.
I used the cups page because it is the cups page and yast could never test de connections with my lan printers which endeed work, and so, doesnt work for me.
Also the file foomatic-rip-hplip wasnt on my system, and now it is.
I fooled around in the cups area for a little bit, but nothing I did there worked. That’s when I tried deleting the printer through YAST, which did work. By the way, I have a HP PSC 1310 multifunction device.
