Using the Ubuntu 10.10 fonts in openSUSE 11.3

Has anyone tried the cool font that comes default in Ubuntu 10.10 on openSUSE 11.3?

Although I hate Ubuntu, I loved the font and the interface is really clean.

If you know what it’s called, copy over it’s folders from a Ubuntu install to /usr/share/fonts, run SuSEconfig. AFAIK that would be all.

I use it as my default web font. It is cleaner and clearer.

You can download it from here Ubuntu Font Family and just install them just like any font.

Here is what I did in case someone else wants to use Ubuntu fonts:

wget http://font.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu-font-family-0.69+ufl.zip # this might be different by the time you use this
unzip ubuntu-font-family-0.69+ufl.zip
mv ubuntu-font-family-0.69+ufl /usr/share/fonts
SuSEconfig
