Hey guys,
I use skype ALOT, and when skype is open and I’m in a call, no other program that uses a mic will function properly.
An mmo I play on-line has built in voIP, and the voIP only functions properly when skype is closed. (it does not work at all otherwise)
Just as a reference, if I try to use kRecord while skype is open it will give me an error saying that the sound card is busy, or something to that effect.
So my question is how should I go about sharing the mic between multiple programs?
Thanks all lol!
AFAIK this is the same is wanting to play a DVD whilst burning something else on it in the same device. It should not work that way. If you do want to record things while having a skype call, you need a second mic, or a headset for Skype. That would give you 2 devices, each used for their own job.
I don’t want to record something, that was a mere reference. I would however like to be able to chat in skype and in game at the same time. Something that worked fine and with ease under windows.
I have skype running. As long as I don’t make/answer a call it leaves my mic as it is. I can get the krecord error when I start it during a call.
Just asked my son, he skypes whilst gaming. Says the mic does not work in gaming during a skype call. Do yourself a favor and buy one of them cheap headsets to use for either skype or gaming.
Ok, I just went out and bought a cheap mic, how should I go about setting it as the default.
(it’s just a desktop mic, not a headset)
The mic is now defaulted, but even when holding the mic very close to my face things are still quiet.
IN the mixer I opened added the mic boost, and turned it all the way up but it doesn’t seem to be helping
Ugh, let me take this post in a different direction…
How does one go about using 2 different mics at the same time?
(one headset & one desktop mic)
I have the headset being used in skype, and the desktop mic is the default recording device, but even still; if I am using skype, not even the second mic will work.
And solution?
