are you trying to connect via FTP from a “suse linux version 10”
machine to a web server on another machine?
or
are you trying to connect to a web server on a “suse linux version
10” with FTP?
in either situation:
is the machine with the web server running ftpd?
do you have access to the ftpd configuration file?
the filezilla one minute timeout: is that a filezilla setting that
you can change inside filezilla or is it at the server? find out by
opening a terminal and use the following
ftp [your-server-name.com]
to FTP to the server and see if it is killing the connection after a
minute…(i think it is probably a user set time-out option…but, i
never seen or used a filezilla…does its documentation address a user
set time-out?)
the machine(s) running “suse linux version 10”: is that SUSE Linux
Enterprise Desktop v 10 at your end, or SUSE Linux Enterprise Server v
10 at the server end?
in either case this is the openSUSE forum and the best answers for a
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop or Server question will come from the
makers/seller/supporter of that system, at forums.novell.com
however, you are welcome to hang out here and see if anyone can help
you, once we understand your question…
Thank you for your reply. i have replied to your queries in green color. Hope you have sufficient details to reply me.
The main problem I am facing in SUSE is the ftp timeout in filezilla and not able to use the kde network folders to attach the ftp and the other one is not being able to install joomla.

Colours are not seen by everybody here. Please use quoting standards.

By suse desktop you mean SLED? Then this is not the proper forum, this is
for openSUSE.
