Using QEMU/KVM with Win10 & Thunderbird Problem with seeing messages

I am post here because I have a problem with Win10 and Thunderbird on virtual machine. I have no problem with T’bird on my TW machine but needed to use Win10 VM for some work and access to emails.

I installed T’bird but whatever I do I cannot get a message window to show below the list of inbox messages. All I get is the list of the messages and to open a message I have to double click to open in a new window.

spent this morning trying to get my T’bird screen to look how I am used to with a list of messages and the opened message opened below but no luck so far. No help on the net either so I am asking here as a last resort. I appreciate this is somewhat OT.

Hi and many thanks. That was what I needed amongst the many things I could change. For unknown reason one of the panels had been turned off so the message panel, which is usually visible was not. This now has an on/off toggle (F8) which is new to me. With a new VM installation this had me guessing exactly where I had gone wrong.
