On desktop box, with asus Z93A, I can connect only one PS2 hardware (usually I connect the keyboard).
I have tested the mouse which is working on the ps2 motherboard connector.
I could not make the mouse working on USB 2.0 or 3.0 using a ps2_to_usb converter.
Same problem on a laptop running leap 42.1 and a laptop running 13.2.
I would like not have to buy a usb mouse.
Maybe you could post the dmesg output immediately after plugging the converter alone and then the mouse to see what it says, like this when I plug another mouse in my box:
:~> dmesg | tail

P.S.: piping to tail will show the last 10 lines of the file - in this case, the dmesg output. If you need more simply use dmesg alone.
The mouse or the keyboard does not work with the converter.
The mouse or the keyboard work on the Asus motherboard PS2 connector.
The Asus motherboard PS2 connector can drive only one device.
