Hi, I’m not sure I’m in the right section here but perhaps someone can set me straight. Anyway, here’s my problem:
I’m trying to watch a cs lecture from Harvard and I would like to plug in my headset so I don’t disturb my wife’s television. Only problem is that the system speakers ARE NOT silenced when I plugin the headset. I had thought this was a hardware feature but it is apparently OS controlled.
I duel boot windows 7 and when I plug in the headset under W7 the system speakers ARE silenced!
I don’t like to use windows and only have it on my system because I have one application that I have to have that only runs under W7.
Please tell me how to correct this problem and make my life comfortable again.
System information HP dv7, AMD 64 vision duel core 2.2 Ghz running OpenSUSE x86_64 duel booting with Window 7
Thanks for the help
Jim
