Me I never had an issue running debian pure, its just rough setting up multimedia on it… but no more rough setting up multimedia in Ubuntu and Opensuse (though I think setting up multimedia Ubuntu is actually easier, the Ubuntu restricted extras package seems more useful then the opensuse codecs ymp installer as it gives you more codecs to start off with, though adding extra multimedia repos might be a little easier for newcommers in opensuse, but using Linux for over 4 years now I dont feel any challenge with it)
