user name/password

I recently bought a laptop with SUSE installed. Everything was working fine, but the last time I tried to start it, it would not recognize username/password.

I must have changed something without realizing it… now how can I get back into SUSE?

Thanks,

José

Are u able to login as root?

password: your root password

Silly question, but are u sure no caps lock on and not other language than english on?

Caps-lock on?

Num-lock on? Often, inadvertantly turning numlock on in a laptop can cause
the numlock mode to be enabled at boot, which shifts the uio-jkl-mn. keys
into the numeric keypad layout. This has bitten me many times.

Well, no number lock or anything, but signing in as “root” did it.

Many thanks.

Good now,now u can log into yast>security and users and edit the existing users(passwords, anmes etc)
Keep in mind that u should not use root account for everyday use
