Actually no. I’m from Germany, so in which situation would this be more helpful (or less) than if I were from, say, Egypt?
Mirrors, Yes, I had that in mind.
Also, internet questions relating to speed, isp etc…
Some people can’t even seems to manage .iso burns. Crumbs if I knew they lived in the same country as me, I’d offer to send them one.
Ok, some people are so vague in the first place it takes a few extra questions in reply to get the info you need.
For some the mirrors are an issue for SPEED, though I must say I never notice any real difference. But it seems logical to point a person from Austrailia (if we know they live there) to a mirror more local than say Germany.
Here in the UK, there have been big issues with ISP’s throttling customers. Just about all ADSL is sold as “Unlimited”. But it’s NOT (see small print). Customers are being automatically switched on to high user pipes which are throttled right down and full of heavy users.
If a forum user is experiencing problems with their adsl, off topic/non-suse related topic, and we know they are from “?”
We may be able to offer advice if we have sufficent knowledge in that area and / country.
It’s nice to be friendly here too, and in this ever shrinking world we have many of us travelled far away. I would like to have users say to me : “Hey, I visited the Lake District”…!!!
I would love to visit Sweden, Germany, Denmark and Finland - I haven’t been to any of these yet!
But , I can visualize you better, now I know where you are.
And if I’m in a thread with you, I have a good idea if you are in bed asleep or up and about ready to answer/respond!
This is a nefarious plot by caf4926 to prove to the world once and for all that we Americans type worse English than folks whose native language is not English.

The few times I’ve seen an issue where locale may play a role, the poster states their locale and usually explains why it might be an issue.
I don’t know that knowing a member’s locale would be beneficial or not for the vast majority of issues discussed here.
