use wifi printer via IP generated by DHCP

Hi all,

I’ve recently purchased an Epson NX515 printer.

In 11.2 I’m trying to set it up similarly to a Mac that I did for a friend.

Is it possible to set up network printing in Yast specifying that Suse use dhcp to get the ip (rather than specifiing manual IP/port configurations?

I’ve seen that someone in Ubuntuland had success with manual specification

Is that the best way to go?

I’ve downloaded the cups source from avasys, and was trying to compile the driver, but get the following error when compiling the “pipslite-1.4.0”. I’m operating in a KDE environment, and have dowloaded in Yast what I think are the right packages (imlib) I assume I don’t need to install the base gnome libs right?

checking for GDK_IMLIB… configure: error: Package requirements (imlibgdk) were not met:

No package ‘imlibgdk’ found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables GDK_IMLIB_CFLAGS
and GDK_IMLIB_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

There are precompiled rpms for 11.1 but I assume its safe to say that these won’t work with 11.2?
