usbutils downgraded today

Hi all,

usbutils package was downgraded today from version 00-7.1 to 00-5.1 in the Tumbleweed repo

Anyone know the history behind this?

Regards
michael

The version you’ve 'downgraded to is still way newer than anything on software.opensuse.org: Download openSUSE 11.4

Newest version on there is usbutils-002-19.1, the newest version in the tumbleweed repo seems to be 002-7.1

Is yours a 32 bit install or 64?

Mine’s a 64 and the only reason I can think of for the big difference in versions is that yours might be a 32-bit system

Miss-typed,

from openSUSE:Tumbleweed, obs://build.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Tumbleweed, x86_64

yesterday 23-June-2011 was at usbutils-002-7.1.x86_64
today 24-June2011 it’s at usbutils-002-5.1.x86_64?

usbutils-002-5.1.x86_64 is the version in the tumbleweed repo at the moment so any later version came from another repo, perhaps one you disabled when switching over to tumbleweed?

If you really need a later version usbutils-002-19.1.x86_64 is available in the Base:System repo, or just search usbutils on software.opensuse.org: Download openSUSE 11.4

Personally though unless there was a problem with usb devices I’d leave it as it is, sometimes the ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ approach is worth considering
