I don’t suppose I can transfer a few of my games from my computer with windows to this linux computer with my usb flash drive huh?

I doubt you can do that. TO run some Window games you would need to setup a program called Wine and then install to wine like you did to Windows. Generally speaking not all games will work. GO to the Wine site and see if thy have a particular game working or not.

Programs (including game programs) written for windows or other operating systems will not under Linux and vice versa even though there are certain programs that are platform independent. There are 2 ways you can run windows programs under Linux.
(1) Through “wine”. In this case, a windows API (application programming interface) environment is created under Linux. Not all programs can be run this way.
(2) Through VirtualBox (and similar virtual mechine technologies). Most programs work but in some cases, there is performance issues.

there is no defrag or disk clean or disk check for linux file system is there?
I was thinking about buying a new hard drive, but then what if that doesn’t help and I reinstall linux and it’s still messed up because I’m not running it appropriately
also, I believe the windows partition on here was killed when i installed linux, so it’s dead and taking up space and probably slowing down the hard drive
Hard to say if a new drive would help without more info. What make/model is it? How much RAM? How much free space on the disk? Are you single or dual booting? Also, what desktop are you using? Some are faster than others.
You don’t say what games you would like to play so try googling for “gamename under wine”. Good chance someone else has done it.

simple, just pick the repo which fits your OS…

all three are available, but not needed as often (if ever) because
Linux doesn’t fragment your drive like Redmond software does…google

well, no…buying a new hard drive and still not reading HOW to run
openSUSE appropriately will result in the same situation you are in
now…
see, it takes some time…and, a lot of reading to LEARN how to not
mess up your system…mine does not run “all slow and buggy, crashes
a lot etc.”…and, yours didn’t either on its first day, did it??
in fact i see on 21 Dec you posted “just installed linux” and on 9
Jan, nineteen days later you don’t mention any problems…
so, what happened to your system between 21 Dec and 18 Jan…i think
it has problems now probably because you introduced them by not
following the documentation’s way of doing stuff…

anyway, I’m probably going to scrap on the game idea, I already have windows on one computer, and an xbox 360. But for the record:
I don’t know what type of hard drive this computer uses. might be ide, have no clue. 1.5 gigs of ram. This linux partition uses I think 30 gigs of space out of a 110 gig hard drive. I have a useless windows partition, but honestly I’m not sure how much space that takes up. I’m guessing there is at least 60 gigs of free space on this hard drive, not sure though.
I can give you a readout on the space that LINUX tells me I have(which doesn’t seem accurate) if you want. But I forgot the command so let me know if you want the information and I’ll go find out what that command was. Also how can I tell what type of hard drive I’m using?

I know linux doesn’t use ntfs file system, the file system it uses writes differently with more space in between the data so doesn’t fragment as much
honestly, my computer was having MORE problems two weeks ago then it is now, I just didn’t post it. I must admit, you must be sharp. I don’t mean that sarcasticly, but good observation of was said then and now. You keep up well
