USB or CD rom not mounting on LTSP thin clients

Hi,

Have been trying to find answers on following:

Server: ESXi host / OpenSuse 11.3 fully patched with XFCE Desktop
KIWI-LTSP installed and configured (working)
Clients: 20 booting against the server

Problem: USB or CD doesn’t mount on the client machines. Noone can get any data on or off an USB stick or disk!
Instructions say that CD and USB should mount on desktop automatically!
Does ltspfs need any configuration that I’m not aware of ?

Haven’t found any place where the disks would appear - no errormessage either.
Simply doesn’t react at all to a USB stick.
On the server CD mount OK but no USB (but this might be due to ESXi limitations)

Any help appreciated,

…and to add - no sound either
and it should by default

One thing: nbd server is not running and if I try to start
it gives error that it is not configured.

You need pulseaudio installed and XFCE using that to get sound.

The devices are automatically mounted in /media/$USER/ if you use the latest ltsp packages from server:ltsp repository the icons should also show up on the desktop.
