I assume you use KDE (because of you mentioning Dolphin), but better explain that when you start a thread

When you connect a mass-storage device via USB while the system is running, KDE should give you a pop-up informing you of the connection and offering you some possible actions. Is that happening?

BTW, wen you copy/paste computer text between CODE tags, do so directly from your terminal window in between the CODE tags. As you did it now, the layout is rather buggy and badly interpretable.

It may be ythat you mean that /dev/sdc is the device you are talking about. When that is correct (and I do not misread that buggy output), the device is not partitioned. Is that correct?

Yes i do use KDE and it want give me pop-up, yes /dev/sdc is that device and it is not partitioned. but in tray when i right click on available devices and select settings-monitor_devices-removable_device i see all my hdd disks and usb flash listed.
…and i don’t know how to copy computer text with CODE tags in terminal :\

You mean, you get the pop-up? And what are the possibilities offered when you click in the pop-up on the device?

When it is not partitioned, there is probably also no file system on the device. Thus it can not be mounted, thus it is not part of the directory tree. How can Dolphin, a file manager, do anything with it when there are no files?

You do not know how to copy/paste in a GUI?
In the terminal window you go with your mouse (character cursor) to the begin of the text you want to copy. Left button down and hold down. Then you go the the end of the text you want to copy. There you release the left button. The part of the text you selected is shown different, e.g. in negative. That selected text is now “under your middle mouse button”.

You now go to the window where you are editing your post and where you have the CODE tags (created by clicking on the # button in the tool bar). That looks like CODE]

.
Go with your mouse between the two tags and then short click the middle button. The selected text will now appear.

Oh no no no! it want not give me a pop-up, sorry, my bad…and i know how to copy/paste in GUI of course, it was little misunderstanding…i had liitle console window open, thats why the CODE look that way …

Please answer all questions.

What do you think that is on the device?

Do you think it is partitioned (because fdisk says it is not)?

And when you think that it is partitioned, what should be on there? A file system? What type?

It is, or was, the openSUSE 13.2 install iso on a usb stick, so of
course it was partitioned.

Looks about the problem that pops now and then with some sticks that the
partition table is not read. Either that, or the stick was damaged after
installation.

I am sorry, i was offline. Actually i solved it, probably the stick was demaged after installation as robin said. when i try it in another desktop it ask me to format the usb stick couse is not readable, so i did and now its working…anyway i want to thank you for your time and patience with me. i really do appreciate your help and i am really sorry for wasting your time about it. 3
wish you all the best

Jay

You are welcome. Nice you solved it.

We did not realy waste our time. As we volunteer to help, we are glad when a solution is found. That is not wasted time
