USB Live persistent 12.3

Thank you very much for this great script - and I have a working USB stick of 12.3, but changes (desktop layout, passwords) don’t seem persistent. Am I doing something wrong? Maybe there’s a KDE setting I need to make to tell the live image it should save changes?

Thank you,

AFAIK persistence does not seem to work anymore.

You might try this as last resort

If you’d rather not reformat the USB device and** keep the ability of putting files on it** and accessible by other operating systems, you have the option of using the live-fat-stick script.

I thought the method I mentioned in the above links used something called a “cow” filesystem and was supposed to be automatically persistent. But it is a dated link. I guess I could always just do a standard install to the USB stick - they are pretty big these days.
