I am trying to install openSUSE using a 1GB USB Stick, openSUSE-11.1-NET-i586.iso and UNetbootin - Homepage and Downloads on my EEE-PC, Asus 1000HE, when choosing HTTP, FTP or any of the listed options I get a two choise menu with my LAN and my WLAN card, no mather which I choose I get the
“No network device found.”
“Load a network module first.”
error.
As I am a newbie to linux I have no clue how to solve this problem.
Hi
There should be an option to add a module, else you need to add them in
the options section at the boot/install menu. The wired connection uses
the module called atl1e and the wireless ath9k.
For the boot/install option you would use the following
insmod=atl1e insmod=ath9k

I think u better use liveCD to install, because your network device isnt read by the NETCD.
There may be alternative, but since u r to install directly from internet, its better u use the liveCD.
Good Luck.
If you do decide to use the LiveCD, I got it to work on my eee 1000 by installing the iso using unetbootin, then deleting config.isoclient in the root directory of the stick, then copying config.gnome.isoclient or config.kde.isoclient (depending on which LiveCD iso it was) and renaming the copy config.isoclient.
Some reports seem to indicate that just a straight install with unetbootin works - I guess it depends on hardware.
