Usb hub works in opensuse 12.3?

Hi all,
I am having two usb hubs both perfectly working in windows… but when I am trying to install those in linux

dmesg informs me

5339.793872] usb 2-6: USB disconnect, device number 20
 5345.814033] usb 2-6: new high-speed USB device number 21 using ehci_hcd
 5345.928493] usb 2-6: unable to read config index 0 descriptor/start: -61
 5345.928496] usb 2-6: chopping to 0 config(s)
 5345.928499] usb 2-6: New USB device found, idVendor=058f, idProduct=6250
 5345.928501] usb 2-6: New USB device strings: Mfr=0, Product=0, SerialNumber=0
5345.928580] usb 2-6: no configuration chosen from 0 choices

that saw something new connected to it… but any device there would not be further recognized by my operating system.

keyboard, mouse, mp3 driver that work properly if connected directly to usb port do not work when connected to the hub.

What might be the problem.?

I would like to thank you in advance for your reply

Regards
Alex

I doubt that anyone here knows enough about the echi_hcd driver to be able to
comment about your problem. I suggest that you post on
linux-usb@vger.kernel.org. When you do so, be sure you post the exact kernel you
are using. Merely saying openSUSE 12.3 will not be enough. The output of ‘uname
-r’ is needed.

True and thanks for the support. I just wonder how “complex” a normal 10 euro usb hub can be for the kernel…

I have never seen a hub fail like this. They are passive devices when viewed
from the USB adapter.
