USB help

Hey guys, brand new to linux. Completely erased my windows finally to load up opensuse 11.3. It’s amazing!!

Only one problem. I can use a usb stick and it automatically shows up. When I plug in my microSD into my usb adapter I get an error message. I’ve seen lots of posts about this error message but everything I’ve read has been way over my head.

If I could get some step by step brand new to linux help I would be greatful!

Here’s a screenshot:

Can’t quite read that what file system is on that memory?

Looks like “vfat” to me. Could be a volume size limit problem. Might we suggest he tries a mount as root for perhaps a better error message, or is that too dangerous?

Crtl++ or View | Zoom | Zoom In
Crt+0 to reset.

message says: Error mounting mount, unknown filesystem vfat.

I don’t know much about the microSD except that these are typically used in cameras and media players?
I think the OP needs a microSD card reader instead of using the normal USB interface.

Because I had the same problem with one of three usb sticks. Maybe it needs format or run a debugging programm.
