USB Device showing when removed from system

I had a Chesen ps2/usb converter/switch on my for years so I could run
ps2 keyboard and mouse to different systems in usb mode.

The switch was removed when my older system died, but openSUSE 12.3 is
still reports it during bootup. The keyboard and mouse are now directly
connected to the mosue port.

What do I need to remove to correct this?

If lsusb still reports it, then the bus scan of the USB system is still finding
a USB device with that ID, no matter how it is plugged into the computer. You
might check the dmesg output to see what the kernel said when it discovered it,
but if it works, forget the issue.

Guess I will forget it. It works.

What I did was replace the Chesen which went to two computers with a
device that takes the PS2 keyboard and mouse into one usb port. Not made
by Chesen, but system must think it is.

Thanks for your response.

The casing/packaging of the device may be not Chesen, but the actual hardware is. “lsusb” doesn’t lie about that.

It could well be. Its a radio shack device. I know my chesen was two
computers attached to one monitor and display ( a switch). Oh well its
working so I’ll ignore the messages.

Thanks for your response.
