USB Card reader problem

Hi,

I have installed opensuse 11.1 and since then my hardisk is permanently in action. Using dmesg, I found that every second a a syslog message is written like that:

sd 4:0:0:2: [sde] Add. Sense: Logical unit not supported

hardware info yields something like that:

udi = ‘/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_db0_4011_AAAA12345678_if0_scsi_host_scsi_device_lun0_4’
scsi.bus = 0 (0x0)
info.linux.driver = ‘sd’
info.subsystem = ‘scsi’
scsi.target = 0 (0x0)
info.product = ‘SCSI Device’
scsi.lun = 0 (0x0)
info.udi = ‘/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_db0_4011_AAAA12345678_if0_scsi_host_scsi_device_lun0_4’
scsi.model = ‘CF Card CF’
scsi.vendor = ‘Generic’
scsi.type = ‘disk’
linux.sysfs_path = ‘/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:13.2/usb1/1-6/1-6:1.0/host4/target4:0:0/4:0:0:0’
info.parent = ‘/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_db0_4011_AAAA12345678_if0_scsi_host’
linux.hotplug_type = 2 (0x2)
scsi.host = 4 (0x4)
linux.subsystem = ‘scsi’

This occurs only when I’m logged into a KDE session. I’ve tried to deactivate these devices by udev.rules, but I couldn’t find a proper/comprehensive documentation on these rules.

Can anybody help me with this problem? The harddisk sound causes frayed nerves …

Thanks, Andreas

Did you ever sort this ? I’ve got the same problem and it’s driving me crazy !!!
