USB boot disc path for kernel and initrd

Hey there,

I’m attempting to install OpenSUSE on a Macbook Air. I have created a bootable disc but need to point enterprise.cfg at the path for the kernel and for initrd.

Help?

I don’t know anything about MacBook, or how it installs/boots.

However, relative to the iso file system:

kernel is: /boot/x86_64/loader/linux
initrd is: /boot/x86_64/loader/initrd

If you are looking at the USB, then this is all relative to partition 2 on that USB. Partition 1 is the EFI partition.

The file “/EFI/BOOT/grub.cfg” in partition 1 actually contains the boot paths and the grub search string that is used to locate the partition.

I’m not sure if that helps.

Hi
Press the power button and then hold the option key down to get the
boot menu, then select the usb efi device (openSUSE install medium).

I have Tumbleweed running on a MacBook3,1 system, but have osX as well
using it’s boot system (disk), by default it does use UEFI to boot to
grub, but if want to run osX use the option key… I did have to tweak
a few things, but runs fine.
