would anyone mind giving me a heads up on what to look for in my BIOS menu to figure out is my laptop ( toshiba satellite m45-s265 ) has the capability of booting from USB?
FYI: I ahve already tried to update the BIOS, nothing available at this time

In boot device priority section, do you see USB listed? All BIOS are different in layout, just work your way thru it all in a methodical manner - 
If the option exists it should be in the boot order selection.
