My opensuse 11.1 system in KDE 4.1 session for normal user does not respond to my laptop keyboard or to my USB keyboard. It is working when I am logged in as root. It is also working in Enlightenment
for both users. How can I solve this issue?
Any reason you’re still using 4.1 rather than 4.2? Did this happen after an update? Have you tried updating your system again? I have heard kwin window manager can be the cause of this. Are you using compiz or kwin?

Thank you. It worked.
Guess I replied prematurely. It worked but after sometime, as I was typing, the letters did not appear any more and I knew the keyboard wasn’t working again. Even now I am replying through Enlightenment.
