I had 3.1.0.6-1.1 installed with the i10n-ja language pack. I was able to view and write Japanese documents. Then I upgraded to 3.1.0.6-3.1 and now Japanese fonts won’t display. I get empty boxes where the fonts should be.
Hi, please ignore this thread. Even though I was able to view Japanese in all other applications, it seems that OpenOffice required some extra font packages that the other applications did not. Why it used to work in OO and then didn’t I’m not sure. There was a time when a QT update caused a lot of packages to stop working and in trying to get them working I removed a number of packages - perhaps one was the font pack in question.
I was having problems with Japanese text in OpenOffice too, but installing the sazanami-fonts package worked for me.
