Upgrading in a OpenVZ container

With 13.2 ending support soon I am looking at options in my OpenVZ(OpenVZ 6 (2.6.32-042stab120.11)) container.

Will 42.1 or 42.2 run on this or will I need to look elsewhere for a supported distro?

Edit: Will the Evergreen project be taking on 13.2?

Can’t speak to containers but evergreen is now done 13.1 was the last.

Untested.
Upgrading an openVZ container <should> work but typical recommendations like making proven/tested backup and/or roll back capability would be more important than usual.

Recommend upgrading to 42.1 since that is a recommended upgraded path, and then you can make a decision about 42.2 after that.

Thanks, is there a supported rollback function in zypper or do I need to look elsewhere?

Is there an easy way to backup the entire container? That might be easier than a rollback. I already backup what is necessary like database entries, etc but it is a pain in the neck to start over from scratch.

I don’t ordinarily use OpenVZ, but a Google search reveals that OpenVZ released a backup and restore app called vzdump that hasn’t been updated since 2009 (kidding, It’s very simple so in this case old is not necessarily bad).
