on my lapto with leap 15.6 and KDE I started upgrading to 16.0 by opensuse-migration-tool launched in konsole in KDE, everything seems to go well but it stopped at

is the upgrade finished?
/etc/cups/cups-pdf.conf is a configuration file for the cups-pdf Virtual PDF printer for CUPS and that file has been marked rpmsave rather than deleted since apparently it is no longer needed on your system but may contain custom configurations that you may wish to recover.
Maybe you no longer have cups-pdf installed or you never changed that file and so you may safely delete it.
The warning is just that, a warning, so nothing to be worried about.
Whether the upgrade finished or not is independent of that and in my view starting the migration tool from a konsole within KDE is not the wisest choice since using a Virtual Terminal (for instance CTRL+ALT+F4) is safer with any sort of upgrade.
I rebooted, it shows me 16.0, the login screen appears, I can insert password but I cannot login in any user
what can I do to have my 16.0 without restart from backup?
Switch to a VT, login as root, check that only repos for 16.0 are enabled by zypper lr -d, then perform a zypper dup in case the previous upgrade did not complete.
well, I reistalled backup and reperformed opensuse-migration-tool from VT ctrl>alt>F4,

it stopped at the same point, but, now I pressed “enter” ant it gone ahead, then stopped at another point but waiting 5minutes it gone ahead again, shown me a window where select selinux and 32bit and now seems finished, restarted, and start in emergency mode press ctrl D to continue.
pressing ctrl D it says

the same happen if I enter the root password
how can I proceed to upgrade to 16.0?
A starting point would be your repository list prior start of the upgrade.
zypper lr -d
When your repo list still looks the same like in 2024 when you attempted the upgrade from 15.5->15.6 with ~35 repos, the failed upgrade wouldn’t be surprising.
I cannot access to the system now, it shows me 16.0 at boot, this is my son’s laptop and had only standard 15.6 repositories plus packman,
now after boot this errors appears
I tried with another kernel and inserting root password works, how can I proceed?
the kernel is 6.4.0.150600.23.92-default
but it seems 15.6 kernel
I tried also with recovery mode with kernel 6.12.0-160000.37-default and if I insert root password it works (in text mode)

Just a warning ; there is a new version of /etc/cups/cups-pdf.conf and the previous has been saved as rpmsave.
You can managed rpmsave and rpmnew with command line tool rpmconf
rpmconf - This tool searches for .rpmnew, .rpmsave and .rpmorig files and asks you what to do with them: keep the current version, replace with the previous version, or review the diff.

I also tried to run zypper dup but it said me nothing to do
at the end I installed slowroll, opensuse-migration-tool worked for less than half of my installation
