Boot process stops at: Reached target Graphical Interface.
Nothing happens past that. Left computer on all night, nothing happened.
Any ideas?

Do you have nvidia graphics or AMD graphics. If so, you may need to install drivers.
You need to describe which method you used to upgrade, particularly if you’re doing an online (using zypper dup) or an offline (using a DVD).
Provide a link to your reference if you’re following something online.
TSU
online - zypper update followed by zypper upgrade
If the computer won’t boot, how will I install drivers?
From your first message:
Boot process stops at: Reached target Graphical Interface.
If finished booting, but graphics did not start.
Have you tried CTRL-ALT-F1 to see if that gives a virtual terminal session?
When I have installed Nvidia drivers the hard way, after every kernel update I see the boot ending in “Reached graphical target” or similar.
You did not answer about what video
You can boot to terminal and do the patches
At boot press e then find line that starts linux or linuxefi go to true end of line it wraps. enter a space and a 3 press F10 to continue
log in as root
then
zypper up
If you have a AMD or NVIDIA card you could also run yast add the appropriate repo and install the appropriate driver for your card. Can’t be more specific without know what card
Also if a notebook it would help to know to give you special instructions
Oh and look at your repos to be sure ALL are for 42.1. mixing repos is very bad
zypper lr -d
will list repos
